Dance of Thieves, Book 1

This book was absolutely one of my favourites by far. The storyline was amazing, and the characters were very well-developed, and we actually get to see them change and grow throughout the two books. However, the book may not be suitable for younger audiences just because of the fact that there are intimate scenes involved, and drinking. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the book is absolutely amazing and everything was very well thought through. The romance in this book is a great enemies-to-lovers/forced relationship. At first, Kazi is just doing it because she wants to get closer to Jase and use him, but over time, she grows to realise that she can’t live without him. The human emotion in this story is fantastic and nothing is forced at all. There are strong female roles for children and adults alike to admire and it has great messages too. Would highly recommend.

I love Dance of Thieves! I didn't find it slow at all, although a friend of mine read it and found it completely boring. I like world building and getting snippets of the characters' past, so while I was entranced with hearing details about Venda and the Ballengers, she was probably just thinking about how she wanted to get on with the story. Understandable, but I honestly think this is such a good book. I'll admit, I didn't read many reviews before buying this book, and it was unexpectedly romantic. I knew there was romance but it was still unexpected to me for some reason. Still, I loved watching Jase and Kazi learn to get along after pretty much having a mutual hatred for each other. I think both are great characters, each with their own deeply woven pasts and personalities. Some positive messages could include the Ballengers and how they are loyal and faithful—at least regarding each other. A good, large family that protects each other at all costs. Plus, Kazi has great relationships with her fellow Rhatan, Wren and Synové, whom are like her family. Great book that I definitely recommend!

I'm not going to lie, I was extremely disappointed. Maybe it's because I went it with somewhat high expectations, but those were quickly dropped. I liked the beginning and I didn't mind the end but the 350 pages in between were purely boring. I think if you were truly invested in the characters and went in with a low expectation you might enjoy it, but for me, given that I despised the main male character, (Jase) it was pretty painful. The main female character, (Kazimyrah) wasn't that bad but there were plenty of aspects about her I didn't like. The love story was chaotic and didn't seem well thought out. I think that's what let me down the most. It was good for a while but got dull and disturbing quick. Anyway, I can see why people could like it, but I personally found it slow and for 500 page book it wasn't spread out well. Sorry for the harshness and if you like the book I get it, I just wouldn't recommend it and it wasn't for me.

I loved this book so much! It holds so much in only 500 pages! i read this book in one day and I love it so much! I think that there is so much that kids and adults can learn from reading it. 10/10 recommend!

One of my favourite books around. Has a lot of action and the plot is pretty good. Has a little spice too.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! i thought that the plot was on point and it always kept me wanting more. I do think that you have to be fairly mature to read this, but i totally suggest!

This book is absolutely TERRIBLE, it’s so confusing and I had no idea what was happening in this book for half of the time. The romance is also a bit boring. Will not be picking up the sequel!

This is my favourite book/ duo of the year!! It had amazing character build and really good depth. It is based around romance so if you don’t want your kid reading something like that then this probably isn’t the book for you, overall amazing book though!!

I loved this book and it will forever have a place in my heart. AMAZING romance and “found family” trope. This duology will forever be my favourite #1 series. Highly highly recommend!!!
