What's the Story?
EDEN CONQUERED begins with Prince Andreus ready to ascend the throne, unaware that his twin sister, Carys, is not dead but alive and in exile. Meanwhile, someone is sabotaging the city's power supply, when its lights are the only thing preventing an invasion by ferocious monsters and rival soldiers. While Andreus attempts to find the culprit amid the power players who surround him, Carys must decide whether to return and aid her brother, even though he tried to have her killed.
Is It Any Good?
The main characters of this fantasy novel undergo huge reversals at the start, setting the stage for even more surprises to come. In Eden Conquered, author Joelle Charbonneau makes good on the promises she made in the first book, continuing Andreus' and Carys' stories with strong action and perceptive character development. The book benefits from a strong sense of resolution, with major and minor characters on varied but credible paths.
