What's the Story?

In EVERY SPIRAL OF FATE, Alizeh and Cyrus postpone their wedding many times as Cyrus heals from the blood oath. While the country of Tulan waits, more and more Jinn arrive to celebrate the union of Jinn and Clay and the peoples of Arya and Tulan. By the time the pair make it to the altar—or rather, a big bubble in the air fashioned by the Diviners—the crowd is massive. From afar, the ceremony wows, made even more impressive when Cyrus' dragons put on a show. But after the vows, the devil Iblees visits Alizeh and taunts her. It's a dire warning of things to come as Alizeh, Cyrus, and friends head to the northern mountains to unlock Alizeh's power. Assassins with poison and dragons lie in wait and Iblees continues to taunt the newlyweds at every turn, but that's nothing compared to the torment Alizeh feels every time she remembers that, as part of the blood oath, she must kill Cyrus in order to harness her magic and save her people.

Is It Any Good?

Kids say ( 1 ):

This fourth fantasy installment heats up like a fire-breathing dragon with a royal wedding in a flying bubble, a love triangle, a mountain quest, and so many devilish secrets revealed. Fans of the romance-heavy series finally get some answers about Cyrus' torment. They have to endure a whole lot of brooding to get there, however, as Cyrus repeatedly gives Alizeh the cold shoulder to safeguard his own heart. While Cyrus' attitude puts a real damper on the romance, this installment feels more complete than the last two books of the This Woven Kingdom series. In the climactic action, characters grapple with impossible decisions with the lives of entire kingdoms at stake. In fact, the conclusion of Every Spiral of Fate is so well-orchestrated that it was worth the four-book wait.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about integrity in Every Spiral of Fate. How does Cyrus try to make the best decisions for Alizeh and the country of Tulan? How does Iblees try to thwart him?

  • Alizeh always feels empathy for Cyrus and his suffering, and often defends him. When do Kamran, Hazan, Deen, Omid, and Huda begin to feel empathy for Cyrus? Can you think of a person you disliked and how learning something new about them changed your opinion?

  • What do you think is next for Alizeh and friends? Will there be all-out war in the kingdoms or can the Jinn and Clay come together to fight a common enemy?
