What's the Story?

In IMMORTAL DARK, an orphaned young woman named Kidan Adane believes her sister June was taken by a vampire named Sunseyos Sagad. Kidan is stubborn, full of anger and hate, and ready to do anything for her sister, the only person she loves. While in hiding for being accused of murdering and torturing someone to get information about her sister, Kidan is confronted by the Dean of Uxlay University. Kidan learns that she has a home at the University, and in order to claim her inheritance and get closer to finding her sister, she must attend Uxlay and graduate from a course about vampire-acti relations called "Dranacti." The problem? The professor for Dranacti only passes one student each year, and Kidan's doesn't know anything about this world she's just entered. Also, Sunseyos wants her gone, and then, a murder of a fellow student drives Kidan even deeper into a realm of dark secrets she may not be able to save herself from, let alone her sister.

This haunting, inventive dark academia vampire novel combines violence and seduction to keep the reader in its grip. The intellectual and sophisticated backdrop of Uxlay University in Immortal Dark pulls in the reader with its East African characters, myths and legends. The all-Black cast of characters provides a refreshing and exciting take on the gothic theme and the vampire lore. The fantasy elements, such as a magical sentient mansion and ancient mythical artifacts, provide the readers with a robust set of elements that spark the imagination. The characters are attractive, powerful, rich, and troubled, so readers who love their characters conflicted, rejoice. The corrupt and broken system of Uxlay University provides characters with a common enemy and a righteous reason to fight, fuel enough for a three-part series. The action packed-plot and sexual tension between Kidan and Sunseyos make every page a gripping experience. The rich setting, fresh perspective, enigmatic characters, and fantasy elements make Immortal Dark an excellent candidate for teens' next vampire obsession.
