Where to Read
What's the Story?
In order to fight crime, solve mysteries, and catch criminals, the INVESTIGATORS have to move fast. So they flush themselves down toilets and get around through the sewer system, and then come out ready to battle brains and muscles with help from some rather interesting technology built by big thinkers at The Science Factory. The two alligators chase down evildoers using V.E.S.T. (Very Exciting Spy Technology), crazy clues, and help from friends.
Is It Any Good?
Solving mysteries is fun with this group of oddball characters who love puns, off-the-wall inventions, and just the right amount of toilet humor. The InvestiGators' travel by toilet flushing has clear gross-out kid appeal, and the other characters in this series of graphic novels are just as wacky. Mixed in with the silliness and the wordplay are real friendships and caring, with a desire to make the world better. Early readers will enjoy tearing through this mystery series as they level up on their reading skills.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about the situations that come up when the InvestiGators work with others to solve mysteries. Who do you think you could team up with to solve mysteries? Why would they be a good partner?
Do you think the fun technology was always helpful?
What other graphic novels have you read, or what others do you want to read? How might they compare to this series?
