Beautiful, and haunting
This is one of the best holocaust books I've read. There is certainly a lot of violence and suffering-about a 'chimney' where dead people in the concentration camps are burnt, how people die of starvation, how they are beaten by the officers, how two kids' mom is suffering from depression, how a group of Nazis coldly kill people from the Resistance. The twins are taken to a 'doctor' who chains them up and wants to split up their insides. All of this is not really described in detail.
It's a story of survival, and determination. A must read for someone who doesn't mind the violence.
