What's the Story?

ORRIS AND TIMBLE: LOST AND FOUND takes up the tale of Orris, an old rat who lives in an old barn, and his BFF Timble, a baby owl he rescued in Book 1. No longer a baby, Timble is growing big and strong, and dreams of flying to the moon, but every night he meets Orris, who reads a lot of books and tells him a story. When he doesn't come one night, Orris is sure their friendship is over and he's been abandoned. The truth is quite different, as Timble returns and tries to mend things between them.

This sweet, early-reader novel hits all the sweet spots while tickling funny bones and tugging heartstrings, as the unlikely friendship of an old rat and a young owl faces new challenges. Orris and Timble: Lost and Found is a tale of friendship temporarily derailed by anxiety and misadventure, but made right and enriched as the title characters reunite. Author Kate DiCamillo's wry, tender narrative and artist Carmen Mok's colorful, lively illustrations on every page make the characters, their joys and worries, and their true bond a delight on each re-reading.
