What's the Story?

OUR INFINITE FATES follows Evelyn and Arden, two souls bound by fate, as they navigate a series of interconnected lives. In each life, Arden hunts Evelyn, determined to kill her before she turns 18. Yet in every life, she's drawn to him, loving him even as she tries to avoid the killing she knows is coming. But when Evelyn is reincarnated as a girl named Branwyn, her death will also mean the death of her sister Gracie, who needs Evelyn/Branwyn's bone marrow to fight the cancer invading her blood. As the clock ticks toward her 18th birthday, Evelyn/Branwyn is desperate to escape Arden's killing hand so that she can ensure Gracie's recovery. When a mysterious stranger starts stalking the bookshop where she works, Evelyn/Branwyn is sure she's found her killer, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to survive.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 2 ):

This book is a creative take on the concept of reincarnation and soulmates. Our Infinite Fates blends light romance, historical fiction, and fantasy into a fun read that many teens will enjoy. While the writing is lyrical and evocative, with many poetic interludes, after the first half of the story, the plot starts to drag, becoming repetitive and predictable at times.

The glimpses into the characters' past lives give the reader greater insight into their characters and an interesting look at historical periods from the view of two young people living in those times, but knowing that the characters will die by age 18 takes some of the intrigue from the interludes. The attraction between the characters is accepted as a given more than shown through the writing, but the story is unique and well-written, making it an enjoyable read for those who are looking for a hopeful but action-oriented love story.
