What's the Story?
Polar Bear has a problem: He's lost his underwear. With the help of his very patient mouse friend, he encounters animal after animal, each with his or her own unique style of bottoms. But will Polar Bear find his own?
Is It Any Good?
POLAR BEAR'S UNDERWEAR is a fun, silly book that hinges on a simple, relatable story and vivid graphics. The book comes packaged with removable cardboard underwear, and off the reader goes on a hunt for Polar Bear's pair.
Each page uses collage and die cuts to set up a new animal's underwear and asks readers to guess whom the colorful underwear belongs to. There's a reveal on the other side of the page that reinforces the idea that everybody wears underwear and that individuals have not only a favorite kind but also a unique pair that expresses their individuality. The result is a spirited, whimsical way of driving home the everyday habits and responsibilities that are part of growing up and becoming autonomous.
