Good book with unexpected twists and turns.

This is a great historical fiction book. It's not the best I've read, but it is probably one of my tops. There wasn't any serious violence except when two drunk men ran after and attacked the main character, Hanna. Hanna is an outgoing and determined girl, who is focused on graduating from school just like her mother wanted and opening her own dress shop. Her dream is to become a dressmaker. Ever since her mom died, everything just hasn't been the same, and Hanna occasionally remembers her in things like mirrors and oranges. Encountering Indians, making a new friend, and getting to know herself better in a new town, Hanna is a great character. This book is a strong fight for Asian Americans, and the story was pretty sad, with her mom dying and all. I overall give this 4 stars and a tween must read.
