Amazing book for a more mature audience
I read this book and thought it was amazing but I gotta say it was one of the more mature book that I have read. In one chapter Lexi the main character goes to a party where there are alcohol and smoking. Lexi does not engage in these but they are still here. There are also mentions of sex a few times that don’t go into detail about you know the deed at the same party. There are other mentions of kissing and making out that go into more detail. Her mother slaps her and steals from her once. There is an amount of sexism and objectifying of women but this is all to prove a point. Her sister is a brat and everyone lives in her world. Lexis best friend Benny is gay and gets make fun of because he of him being gay and being over weight. So maybe have the talk with your kids and teach them about discrimination. They say hell, crap, and slutty quite sparingly. Finally Lexi stands up for everything she believes in. This overall is a great book for older or more mature kids.
