What's the Story?
In STICKLER LOVES THE WORLD, any day can be an adventure full of discovery. Stickler, the eight-eyed creature who lives in the part of the forest where shadow meets tree, and their buddy Crow explore the details of their world by taking a second look at the simple, everyday things that are often overlooked. They delight in flowers, rocks, the wind, the sun, and more, having fun with each other and appreciating everything around them -- especially the sticks.
Is It Any Good?
The soft and colorful illustrations in this delightful picture book set it apart from other read-aloud stories, and the idea that looking at something with a new perspective is a fun one for young readers to explore. Stickler Loves the World inspires imagination and wonder for everyday things, bringing joy to something as simple as an afternoon walk in the woods. The gleeful expressions are a great opportunity to try out funny voices, and the pure happiness on the page is fun for readers of all ages. A wonderfully weird and joyful book to share again and again.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about what they like to look for when they're outside like Stickler and Crow do in Stickler Loves the World. Do you collect sticks or rocks or leaves or shells? Do you look at clouds?
Who do you like to go exploring with? Why? What else are you grateful for in your world?
How could you look at an everyday thing in your own life in a new way? What does it mean to be curious about something? How does being curious help you learn more?
