Keep in mind that this book is in the perspective of a 14-year-old girl.

It is so good!!!! I think that it would be appropriate for probably 15+ or mature 13 year olds. There are some references and topics in it that may not be appropriate for young readers. Before you read it, keep in mind that this is put in the perspective of a 14-year-old girl. I do recommend that parents talk to their kids about certain topics like racism and their views on teenage sex if they are uncomfortable with them reading it. I may not agree with some of the MC's beliefs, but it is a great book.

Princess Diaries Review

The Princess Diaries are great novels with strong plot and lovable characters with relatable struggles-even if you're not the heir to Genovia! The books are written from teen, Mia Thermopolis' point of view. Great books to read, and re-read again!

Worth the read but make sure you are mature enough.

This book is definitely worth a read. It has a honest and relatable main character who certainly has her own flaws and while you should already be old enough to understand her wrong actions during the book it is also important that you recognize that the main character herself is young and the style of writing isn't omniscient because its HER diary. It's supposed to be a personal book where the main character shares her day to day life with the reader and the complete sheer honesty of herself during the book is what makes it intriguing. I think this book should be for either mature 13 year olds or 15 and up. While parents in the reviews are screaming that there is "too much sex" I think that mature teens and 15 year olds will already know about sex and it could even be a safe way to converse with your child about it.

THE BEST COMFORT READ

I LOVE these books! Probably one of my favorites ever! They’re very addicting and you’ll want to read all of them in one sitting. The reason these books are 14+ is because of the sex. There’s quite a few mentions of it for a YA book, and although there’s no nasty scenes (thank God), you should have a firm opinion about sex before you read this, or you might make some bad decisions. I don’t like what these books teach about it, but that doesn’t mean I don’t find them very entertaining (obviously). So this is a great book to start when you’ve just started high school, which is how the series starts. I first read this when I was eleven, and picked it up three years later. I should not have read that when I was eleven, let me just say that. There’s not that much swearing throughout the whole series, just a few h*lls and d*mns and in the later books I think there’s a mention of b*tch. Anway, these books are SO good and I love Meg Cabot’s work!!

Not for young kids!

The movies are great, but the books are definitely for older kids. There is a lot of sexual talk, but good plot. Please make sure that you are old enough to read this. I think that this is a good book to read in middle school, mostly because you know of the thing that they talk about already.

Okay

I expected better but it was still an enjoyable read. If you are a fan of romance/drama books, you will enjoy this. The girls are not great role models, but still likeable characters. The first few books don't have a ton romance but when it gets to the forth book it increases. Over all it is a good read.

Best Book I ever Read

I think this book is great. It gives just right amount of drama and everything else. Although some parts of the book I wish I could change.
