stupid and irresponsible

describes the book as well as the main character. The character is a delusional pathological liar whose mother is an irresponsible absentee parent. It is presented as humor but the premise of this book turns my stomach with the levels of irresponsibility and malice displayed throughout.

Great read for grandma and grandson as He's getting ready for sleep.

I read a few chapters most nights to my grandson once he gets in bed. It's light hearted and funny. We both enjoy the story. We will talk about it the next day. Some of it is over his head as he's just eight but he gets it enough. It's one of my most enjoyable times. The play on words, the puns, and the little hidden messages keep me interested, I mean who couldn't love a polar bear named Total? Great fun.
