What's the Story?

In WHERE THE LIBRARY HIDES, Inez Olivera is determined to find her mother, and that she has to find the secret to Cleopatra's tomb before anyone else. But when the mysterious and infuriating, but swoon-worthy Whitford Hayes, the man she's grown close to on their adventure on the Nile, proposes marriage as a way to solve their problems, Inez faces another challenge: her heart. She sets off on a dangerous adventure to uncover the magic that has torn her family apart and has people chasing after her, but might bring her closer to Whit than ever.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 2 ):
Kids say ( 3 ):

This thrilling, action-packed duology finale is exciting and suspensefu, with romance and betrayal around every corner. Where the Library Hides is full of mystery, magic, and battles at every turn, which will have teen readers on the edge of their seats and unable to put this book down. More sensitive readers may want to tread with caution around the fairly graphic violence. As in the last book, Isabel Ibañez has written Inez as a fierce leader and the perfect heroine for a story that takes readers to different Egyptian cities in an exciting and perilous search for the truth.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

  • Families can talk about the role of graphic violence in Where the Library Hides. Who participates in these violent fights and who doesn't? Why is this important to notice?

  • In the book, people who should be supportive adults to Inez are selfish and dangerous, caring more about themselves than her safety. What does this tell us about different kinds of adult role models? How do these people compare to kinder people in Inez's life?

  • Talk about the characters strengths. How do they show courage, curiosity, and perseverance? Which prove to be most critical to the characters growth and success?
