This game taught me a lot about the vietnam war

Battlefield: Vietnam is a fun game. It is a worthy member of the Battlefield series, but is dwarfed somewhat by its predecessor, Battlefield 1942. This game allows players to use all the common weapons of the Vietnam war and all the common vehicles in a myriad of battlefields, giving the game a large entertainment value. While there is blood, it is extremely difficult to see, and is really a small grouping of red pixels that flash for a half second or so, even in close quarters combat. The violence is always directed at humans, who have a touch of personality (e.g. exclamations in battle, a customizable skin that remains authentic to the war, cries of pain) but all of those features are subtle. The violence is minimal, with the occasional utterance of d**n and other lesser swear words. This game is old, and the graphics are outdated, and the violence is minimal compared to what many games are like now. For kids who are able to appreciate games despite their age, this is a good choice. But don't devote too much money on it. Get it cheap, for $15 dollars or less. One thing to note: while the game displays educational slides before each battle, and the weapons and setting is authentic and correct, this is not a game that should be used to teach kids about what infantry combat is like. Players can take a large number of hits before dying (unlike in real life where damage and lethality can hugely vary from one hit kills to hits that someone can shrug off with adrenaline) and any player can hop into any vehicle (without training!) and under any circumstance automatically has a parachute! And somehow knows how to operate any weapon they come across! There are perhaps a hundred or more (literally) things that are unrealistic about this game, but, that's better than most games. If you want extreme accuracy, go pick up Arma 2 or Total War: Rome 2. In conclusion, this is a good game in general, and is an excellent introduction into todays modern (and typically violent) video game world.

Pegi 16+ that's it Strategic to an extent. It might even cause your child to have an interest in the Vietnam War But anyway it's a good shooter for 16 year olds.

A well-made shooter game. Violent, but with not much blood and no gore. There are no swearing at all, so it should be okay for teens.

There is no way this game should be 15 and up! I played this game a lot at computer camp over the LAN network with everyone else. There isn't much noticeable blood, it's just an average, awesome shooter.

You know games like medal of honor where there's vehicles but you can't ride on them. In this game you can ride on any vehicle. The most fun vehicle to ride on is the jeep. The Graphics are excellent. It is intense because you can run into people (example a jeep) and their bodies will be on the windshield until you take a sharp turn to get them off. No gore, blood is just mist like most war games. Dead bodies are on the ground for seconds are then they go away. The cool part about this game is that you can change teams. Get this game, you won't regret it.
