A Lot or a Little?
The parents' guide to what's in this game.
What Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that Forza Motorsport 6 is a racing game that can be as realistic as a driving simulation or as (relatively) simple as an arcade game. But even with all its authenticity, no one gets hurt when you crash. Unlike many racing games, this does not feature illegal street racing; instead, races take place on real and made-up race tracks. All the cars are real, and players are given rewards for using the same brand of cars multiple times, which can be used to fix up their current cars or to buy new ones. Also, just like the real sport, both the cars and tracks are adorned with corporate logos. During multiplayer matches, players can communicate with each other through Xbox Live's voice chat. As a result of this unmoderated communication, there are strong privacy and safety concerns.

What’s It About?
Since FORZA MOTORSPORT 6 is a racing game, it doesn't have a story. Instead, you progress through a series of races that take you to tracks around the world, where you'll drive all kinds of cars from regular coupes and pricey sports cars to real racing machines. Along with online races, where you can challenge drivers from across the globe, the game boasts a lengthy career mode where you progress through a series of events that are made for specific kinds of cars.
Is It Any Good?
With great controls, curvy tracks, and competitors who clearly want to win as much as you do, this is an exemplary racing game. Whether you play this as a realistic simulation or an arcade game, Forza Motorsport 6 has plenty to offer, including 460 cars, 25 tracks, and the option to try them out either online against fellow drivers or in a lengthy career mode that has you driving a wide variety of car types. They've also added rainy-day races, which really challenge your ability to stay on track, and bonuses called "mods" that can give you more money if you win, a better position at the starting gate, or even improved traction. But the best change the developers have made to this year's model is that, if you prefer your racing arcade-style, this has the spot-on controls of last year's Forza Horizon 2, which made every car feel like it just got new tires, brake pads, and whatever makes the steering in the 2015 Bugatti Veyron better than a 2002 Toyota Camry. if you're a racing fan, you really owe it to yourself to start your engines with Forza Motorsport 6.
Talk to Your Kids About ...
Families can talk about automotive safety. Why is it not safe to drive as fast in real life as you do in this game?
Talk about competition. Why is it important to be a good loser? Why is it just as important to be a good winner? And why is it important to have fun regardless of whether you win or lose?
