Best halo

Noice

The game is pretty good. While it does have blood, there is no gore at all. Plus, it is a bit comedic and there aren't really that much swear words. The game is okay for kids as long as they understand.

Less violent than most shooters of it's time; still somewhat intense.

Halo 2 is about on par with its predecessor in terms of violence; if not slightly less gruesome. Gameplay features almost nonstop combat with both guns and alien laser weapons. No real gun models are used. Blood is always shed upon injury, however the aliens you fight all have non-red blood, which is not quite as brutal. That being said humans still produce red blood when they are injured, and in multiplayer you still are killing humans. Also worth noting, around a third of the way through the game a zombie like enemy known as "The flood" is introduced, which possess decayed human and alien corpses alike. Flood enemies will sometimes break apart when killed, launching their severed limbs and other parts all over the place. Despite their macabre nature, The Flood are not as scary as they were in the previous game. In a cutscene at the very beginning of the game a humanoid-esque alien is shown being tortured via electrocution and branding. The scene is brief, but could be still be seen as disturbing to some, especially children. Language is relatively tame; with S--t being the most intense it gets. The story generally revolves around the concept of thinking for yourself and doing the right thing even if it's difficult. That being said it is worth noting that due to the game's troubled development the story is actually incomplete, so certain themes and payoffs are not followed through on. Even still, at least one important character arc made it through unscathed, and in general the cast is still mostly comprised of admiral figures who are just trying their best to do the right thing.

Halo

Good for kids

Halo 2 is probably the least violent game in the halo franchise.

Halo is a first person shooter game. The aliens that you fight against squirt out blue/green blood. They die with a quick agonizing scream, but with some aliens such as the grunts (the tiny ones) scream in a comedic manner. You do have the free will to kill your human comrades. Big amounts of blood will quickly gush out, but you do not have to kill them. If you kill to many of your.comrades, then they'll turn against you! In the beginning of campaign mode, an alien was stripped down naked and tortured (though no private areas are visibly seen.) There are no sexual themes in this game. No F bombs are said in the entire game, just other swear words such as S***, B***, b**tard, h**, d***. The game is still quite intense at times but not as bad as the other halo games. Halo 2 is a classic game!

Halo 2

This is by far the most violent halo I don't get why halo 4 is not for kids and this is 16. There is a lot of gore such as blowing off faces and severing limbs with blood and gore visible. Halo 3 and 4 are much less violent than this.

Perfect for preteens

I think it's fine because my 8 year old neighbor played it, but he gets very angry and uses the swearing he hears in the game. but his older brother, who is 11, handles it much better. the role models are telling you it's good to fight for what you need to protect, the cotrols are VERY easy to use, and the positive message is that you fight for what you need to protect.
