What's It About?

In LEAPFROG EXPLORER LEARNING GAME: HELLO KITTY: SWEET LITTLE SHOPS, Hello Kitty spends a week helping out shopkeepers and customers with math-related tasks. The shop specialties include ice cream, flowers, bakery, fruit, pasta, and cheese. She needs to estimate the proper boxes to hold her treats, sort groceries by color and shape, estimate the number of items in a group, collect specific numbered items, and fill orders based on a customer chart. She can also visit the photo booth to take and decorate a picture; the sample table to graph the favorite treats of the day; and the jelly bean station to estimate the number of jelly beans in a jar. Each day of Hello Kitty's week has a different theme, such as sports or flowers. Kids earn stickers for the photo booth each time they help a shopkeeper in need, and they add hearts to their heart meters for helping. Creative kids also will enjoy customizing signs for each of the shops.

LeapFrog Explorer Learning Game: Hello Kitty: Sweet Little Shops is an engaging way to help kids understand estimation, sorting, graphing, and charts. There are a lot of different shops for kids to visit and other activities to discover along the way, so kids won't quickly get bored. A nice feature is that the difficulty within the activities levels up based on how kids play, so the game continues to present a challenge. This is a fun, solid choice with a good range of content.
