Do Not Buy, Servers Shut Down
I thought the game was fun and put a nice spin on the multiplayer matches, but it's entirely multiplayer and the servers are down. DO NOT BUY IT. THERE IS NOT A GAME THERE ANYMORE.

Good for almost all kids 10 and up.
The game has VERY little blood and the violence is very simple. You shoot the enemy, they fall down, that's the end. No limbs flying off or horrific screams of pain. The game is played with other people. Some may have microphones for communicating for other players. Thats were I think ALL the profanity comes from. The game itself doesn't swear, the people playing it sometimes do. It's suitable for any kid 10 and up if you're okay with other people talking.

above average community
i'm a big gamer so i have a lot of experience with this and several other online shooters, and i will say this to mags credit.. the way the game is structured generally makes the online voicechat MUCH less of a problem. the way it works is, when you first play the game you choose from one of 3 factions. sver, valor, or raven. (i play for raven myself) it's not easy to CHANGE this initial decision, you pretty much have to start over. at first this sounds like a bad idea, BUT if you fight for raven today, you fought for raven yesterday, and you will fight for raven tomorrow. this creates something of a team mentality where veteran players are much more helpfull to new players and generally more friendly, (since we're all on the same side) in most shooters the person next to you NOW could be against you 10 minutes from now in the next round, and might have been against you 10 minutes ago, why should you help him? it also helps that players almost never TALK to players from opposing factions. it is possible but it's not practical, so shouting matches pretty much never happen.
of course cursing still happens, but bullying is non-existant

Not a mature shooter at all.
MAG is an Online only shooter with barely any violence at all. The violence is very low, With only a bit of blood and no gore at all. You shoot them and they drop down. Its not as mature as Call of duty or Battlefield. The language is going to be pretty high considering its an online game and you will get teenagers and young kids swearing and swearing and making insults for everyone.
Not a bad game really.

Perfect for tweens and teens
Parents, if you let your kids play warhawk or games like that this game is perfectly ok for teens. It is not violent that much and your pretty much in vehicles the whole time. My son, Bobby, wanted this game and he will be 13 in June and he had Warhawk, so since its about exactly like warhawk, i decided to let Bobby try it. Turns out, its not even as bad as warhawk. This game is a very fun game for thirteen year olds.

scary, bad, and unsafe for children of the state.
I think this game can give kids a bad message on what they should be when they are grown up. Like being in a gang, a killer, or maybe being a bad example to other kids like maybe cursing in front of them or making them think it's all right to curse or do any of this stuff.

Great for kids who can understand its just a videogame
When I bought this game for my children, I had some misgivings at first. However, I soon saw that this was OK, and definitely much less violent than other games and movies, Such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I did notice how a message in the game was that all conflicts in the future are solved by violence, but my kids were not affected by this or the violence, and they just took it as a videogame. All in all, this is an excellent alternative for the more violent games we dont want our kids to play.
