What makes something scary is deep question...

If your kids are afraid of the dark, this game features lots of darkness. Stop reading right now and say no. What makes something scary? Usually it is something that jumps out at you, yet nothing in the game feels like a monster. Sometimes "the house is alive" is what makes the game scary yet this does not occur. The world features lots of darkness and light to the point that it is a game play function. This means those scared of the dark are worried. The world is solid white in such a way it feels like Sensory Deprivation. This is scary, yet at the same time does not sound scary, it is just white paint, RIGHT? I, as an adult have a hard time communicating this world. If I where a Art Literature Teacher I would ask students to review this. Characters: -Lucy: No backstory excluding a chase scene. Never visible, just a 1st person character. -Boss: A glowing 3d path that features many Circular Array modifiers. Just look it up. It says nothing. It can't express emotion. And it only shows up at the very end. I don't consider it scary. -Random game elements that move in ways that resemble creatures. They will make noises. They never attack the player. They come in handy to block light. They appear more mid-game. -Rabbit Stuffed Animal that is featured in the level Going Down, in a side room: When you approach it, your speed is lowered. It feels creepy despite the stuffed animal being completely non-scary looking. It does not talk or move. It just is. Plot: Never mentioned. It adds to the isolation. As you play the game you try to justify the worlds existence. Warning: When you die, some red screen flashes and the camera gets blurry. A sad call from Lucy goes out and the camera points to the sky. You quickly get used to this. My experience as an adult: Excessively hard levels that result in death a lot. Is to be understood as art, then is to be understood as a game. Please look this game up on YouTube and skim through many videos on the levels. The further you go into the game, the more Kafkaesque it becomes. Lights that fail, rooms that are darker, and more. What should other families know about this: Great messages: Learn how to communicate in the world of art. This is unlike anything else you have ever seen. You will struggle to communicate this world. The love of isolation in trying to contemplate the essence of being.
