An Epic Game

Civilization Gods and Kings is an amazing game with great visuals and strategic gameplay. The expansion certainly adds more gameplay elements such as espionage and religion along with new civilizations, units and buildings, and is definitely a must for Sid Meier fans. You can discover the real history of any unit, building, wonder etc, which makes the game educational. It only has a small unrealistic brief amount of violence so parents should be happy.

Fills in missing holes from civ5 that were in civ4. Why this helps kids learn about all kinds of strategy without that much violence. However know that your child might like this game 1st before you buy it as a gift. Great game just be aware of mild threats or somewhat scary backgrounds from leaders is your child is under 10 :)

Civilization provides great learning

This excellent, though expensive, game was nothing short of amazing. it has good graphics and realistic gameplay. it remains challenging but not to excess. this game taught me more about history than some of my teachers have. It also features a large amount of add-ons and scenarios from the steam workshop. and the only sexuality is for the realistic portrayal of real historical figures such as Catherine of Russia and Theodora of Byzantium.

Excellent, strategic, and worth your time

A great game to engage children with organisation, prioritisation, strategic, long-term and short-term planning. It has hidden depths where you can explore strategies to help you win, or experiment with your own tactics. The game has 8 difficulties, from Settler, which is a 'tutorial' difficulty, in which the players get large advantages, all the way up to Deity, which adults have difficulty with.

Great game for 9 and up!

This is a really cool game for people who like building cities, making an army, trading resources and taking over other cities.
