Very good game

I was a little skeptical at first letting my 10 year old play this, but once I saw it, it was great. It has violence, but also has great role models and a good message. It shows to fight for what you believe is right. I am also a big Star Wars fan, and my son loves it!

Good, but I agree with the Teen Rating on the game

I am 11 and I know a lot of kids that play this game and I think it is perfectly fine. Sure there is killing guns(or so called: "Blasters") but I don't think kids cant play it. There is a some violence but I mean, what's a game without violence. It would be kinda boring. Anyways, I think kids that are older then 10 can play this game.

AMAZING AND FUN!

This game is amazing and there is barely any violence! If you have kids that watch star wars this is the same thing but just a video game! I recommend this to families that love star wars and are looking for an age suitable game for little kids.

definitely for teen and above - READ REVIEW IF YOU HAVE PRE-TEENS

It looks like parents and children give this an average rating of 10 and up. This is wrong. Although the game itself is incredible in terms of graphics and realism, (5 stars) the bottom line is you are responsible for holding a weapon and shooting to kill other people. It doesn't matter if there is blood or not, it is very realistic. You shoot and the other human gets blasted. If your kid is older and can handle it, then your call. If you've got a child below teens years, then think three times before exposing to this. P.S. I'm not a hippie either.

A Star Wars' fans dream, with easy controls and superb gameplay

Star Wars Battlefront is the perfect gift for pretty much any Star Wars fan. Once again, common sense media provides a strangely harsh age recommendation--if you're old enough to see the Star Wars movies themselves, then you're old enough to play this. In fact, my choice of 9+ is only a ballpark estimate when taking into account the disparities between children and their parents' guidelines respectively. Although this is technically a first person shooter, there's no blood whatsoever--blasters and high-tech sci-fi explosives are used to take out enemies, but they all simply fall over when defeated. There's nothing in this that's more questionable than anything in the original movies, so saying that you have to be thirteen to play it is a little over-the-top, unless it's simply because of the difficulty--in which case, this may be somewhat accurate. Particularly young players could have some trouble learning how to aim and navigate the maps, etc. But otherwise, an awesome game for kids and up!

Great for kids 8+, and so much fun you'll never want to stop playing!

I am 10 years old, and my parents bought this for me after seeing my neighbor play it at his house. This was my very first first person shooter, and having seen the teen rating, I was a bit nervous, but as soon as I started playing, I fell in love. I showed my parents the game and they didn't think anything of the teen rating. Overall, I think this is a great game for kids 8+. I am writing from my parents' account.
