Genius horror film is viscously horrifying, intense and bloody
A Quiet Place Part II is a horror film centering around a post a apocalyptic world where even the slightest sound can get you killed by terrifying creatures.
In the opening minutes of the film, a creature suddenly flips a car and brutally kills countless innocent civilians in a city by thrashing them around, forcefully throwing/slamming them into walls, clawing them etc. however minimal blood is shown. The entire opening sequence is extremely scary and the main characters are in constant peril.
A creature lunches at a cop and kills him, but the camera cuts to a young boys frightened face instead of showing it.
Suddenly, a young boy steps in a bear trap and has in pulled off. The graphic and bloody injury is shown as he screams in pain, followed by alcohol getting poured on the wound.
Throughout the movie, several creatures are blasted in the face with shotguns, pistols and in one case a metal rod. Every time this happens it is shown in gory and bloody detail, splattering blood everywhere and sending chunks of face meat all over the place. When the monster has its head hacked with the metal rod, however, a large amount of blood pools under him along with the other gory injuries. This is all onscreen, and very graphic for PG-13.
A man suddenly has a noose tied around his neck before several bandits hold him and a young girl hostage and at knifepoint. Suddenly, the girl jumps under water and a creature thrashes and kills several bandits before the man takes the noose, grabs a bandit and ties the bandits neck to a metal pole with the noose and jumps into the water so the creature will tear the bandit to pieces. We do not see the bandit get killed, however we hear the bandit get ripped apart and the water under him turns red and some pieces of flesh fall into the water.
Multiple decaying bodies are shown throughout the course of the film, but not much blood is shown.
Suddenly, an entire town of people gets rampaged by a creature, and people are shown thrashed around, clawed and slammed about, thrown against walls, objects. Once again, not much blood is shown, but is still present.
A man is suddenly dragged away by a creature and is heard getting eaten alive.
Overall, the violence can get pretty graphic at times for a PG-13 rated title.
None except maybe a few instances of “d*mn”, mild profanity.
The film is purely terrifying with characters being in constant peril including a baby, characters trapped in a tube with no oxygen, constant peril and terror from creatures who frequently rip entire towns apart, murder innocent people, characters are trapped under water and are killed by monsters.
