Aap Jaisa Koi
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In AAP JAISA KOI, Shrirenu (R. Madhavan) and Madhu (Fatima Sana Shaikh) meet for the first time ahead of their prospective arranged marriage. However, the pair couldn't be more different. Shrirenu is an old-school traditionalist, while Madhu is confident and free-spirited. Will their differing worldviews prevent true love from forming between the two?
Is It Any Good?
This Indian romantic drama has an interesting premise but struggles with execution. Despite a talented cast, particularly leads Madhavan and Shaikh, Aap Jaisa Koi falls into familiar romantic comedy patterns. The film attempts to address traditional versus modern values but comes across as preachy rather than genuinely progressive. Characters remain underdeveloped, and problematic behavior is too easily resolved with simple apologies. While the movie may appeal to fans of Bollywood romance, the predictable plot and shallow character development limit its impact. Director Vivek Soni's film promises more depth than it delivers, ultimately feeling like a missed opportunity to meaningfully explore the clash between traditional and contemporary relationship values.
