Kid reviews for American Skin

I don't really know how to feel about this film. On one hand, I can appreciate Nate Parker discussing police brutality, paired with some (mostly) great performances. But on the other hand, this film lacks subtly in its dialogue, has a clunky found-footage gimmick, and treats the audience like they're stupid. Nate Parker is a horrible person and this film shows that he's not only a hypocrite, but a horrible writer and director as well. Just because a film is discussing an important topic doesn't automatically make it good.
