Although the acting will likely win Oscars, the plot was depressing. More importantly, it contained one of the most awful and unnecessary sexual perversion and torture scenes (for the purpose of showing a descent into hell) that I have ever scene. For that reason alone, I would not recommend it to anyone. My 17 year old thought it was awful too. We both wish we could erase what we saw (before I closed my eyes) from our brains. Awful. The vast majority of audiences would hate it too.

Storyline was dizzy and confusing, over the top party, drugs and language used that didn’t need to be used or seen. Stars like Pitt should think more about the film’s they choose as this one was terrible

This was the most disgusting movie I have ever attempted to watch. Despite the star quality of the cast, the acting was second rate at best and there was NO PLOT. It is over 3 hours long but I could only take an hour before leaving because I realized that it was not going to get any better. I heard the last 5 minutes was the worst. I sure hope those people who stayed to see it are OK.

This movie is terrible. This plot would make more sense without all of the nonsense partying. There is lots a scat humor involving throw up and poop. The movie has wall to wall sex scene in the first 10 minutes. The drug use is extreme along with the sex. People curse a lot in this film every sentence is has a expletive. The film also takes a disturbing turn with the violence. Evil torture scenes near the end which will chill you to the bone. Also this movie is 3 hours long of the filth I just mentioned. Disregard all commercial because this movie is terrible. Do not go see this movie under any circumstances.

We only stayed about 10 minutes in amd am so glad we got up and left. In those first 10 minutes, I was more disgusted and horrified than I think I have ever been in a movie. What I saw was complete filth. The depravity of man is so shocking, but I shouldn't be surprised. Reading the storyline, it sounded good. But I failed to read reviews. It had the potential to be a great movie. Movies can be funny and dramatic without being vulgar, crude, or disgusting. Thankful my kids weren't with us. Wish I got get my money back.

It is the worst movie I have ever seen. I wish I could erase it from my brain. Three quarters of the movie was pornographic with mostly orgie scenes and other things I can't say here. They didn't show äny of this in the short preview (I wonder why). Drug overdoses, gambling and greed to the max. I't was difficult to understand what the plot was. It was full on, like schizophrenic, going at a 100 million miles an hour. Every immoral thing you can think of was in this film bar sex with children. We walked out after giving up on it turning itself around and having any positive message. I physically felt sick in the car parking area. What should families keep in mind???? No children should ever see this let alone adults. With every second word being a f or c word. I am surprised that this is allowed in cinemas at all. I didn't pay money to see some hard core porno movie full of orgies with useless content. I don't know what Brad Pitt was thinking?? Professional suicide?? Please don't go and watch this movie you will come out feeling dark like we did.

The awfully ugly, tasteless and disrespectful piece of rubbish. We left after watching 20 min-too long of that creation. It's unfortunate I couldn't ask my money back. Very disappointed in Brad Pitt for taking part in such production. Please, don't waste your money.

so amazing, truly doesn’t filter anything from the babylon era and margot robbie’s performance is excellent! undeniably spectacular. (don’t watch with your family but theatre experience is incredible and would definitely recommend.

In spite of the 'excesses' shown mostly at the beginning of the movie, this movie is fabulous. If you love the art, yes, the art of moviemaking, you can't bypass this movie. Excellent videography, a lesson of cinema, a reflexion on the evolution of art and a masterfully directed story. Stories, because it's the story of three main characters from the age of silent movies to the age of spoken movies. The music is also fabulous and very to the point - following perfectly the moods of the scenes. The director could not have portrayed the excesses of the Hollywood style of life where people were ready to do anything to become famous better than this. It's a very moral reflexion on ambition.

Great movie! But has too much sex, drugs and language.
