What's the Story?

Skipper's (voiced by Kirsten Day) plans to run a babysitting business with her friends for the summer get off to a terrible start in BARBIE: SKIPPER AND THE BIG BABYSITTING ADVENTURE. Suddenly, Skipper finds herself without friends, sisters, or a job. But instead of moping around focusing on all the things she's missing out on, she makes new friends and lands an ideal summer job. The only problem is her boss is local bully, Tammy. By working hard and maintaining a positive attitude, Skipper tries to make the most of the opportunity and get Tammy to eventually soften her attitude.

Is It Any Good?

Our review:
Parents say ( 1 ):
Kids say ( 1 ):

This one-hour animation aims to entertain young viewers with some unexpected action and goofy asides, and its heart is in the right place. Skipper remains chipper no matter what happens in Barbie: Skipper and the Big Babysitting Adventure. That includes a very strange maniacal clown and an "adultifier" machine that makes children say things like "buy low, sell high!" A highlight is when we learn that Skipper speaks dolphin. This generation of Barbie spin-off characters are less physically peculiar than in the past, and though their adventures are generally far-fetched, they demonstrate positive characteristics and learn helpful life lessons.
