i cried1 i laughed!

i liked the story. it was good and down to earth. this is what goes on in every day life and the film was not afraid to express it. another thing i liked was that the kids were so talented and how they were able to act so well in the outdoors were there could be weather changes in a momments notice.

Just... Just terrible...

Where do I begin with Camp. It is a highly stereotyped, poorly written, badly edited film. For those of you who have issues with this sort of thing, there are several gay/LGBTQ+ characters, and cross-dressers, issues with sexuality, and just plain confusion. I feel that the actual LGBTQ+ characters are poorly depicted and highly stereotyped.

The main male character, white, cis, straight, appears to be the 'All American Boy' in the beginning of the film, with his football, guitar, and, naturally, perfect singing voice, but slowly begins to show his true colors, as an outright jerk. I would use other words than jerk, but this is a family site. He goes around, girl after girl, even getting caught, but rarely faces consequences and is always quickly forgiven. He "Tries to give people what they want" even coming on to a gay boy, confusing the poor soul when this jerk changes his mind. UHG. I just really hate this character.

Other than the blatant horrible role-models, this film is just average. There's a happy ending, colorful (if not a tad annoying) songs, and a few interesting character, none to look up to though.

Oh yes, the language. There's a lot of it, including, but not limited to, the 'F' word, "B--ch', 'A--hole' and many more colorful words interspersed, used by both adults and teens.

One girl poisons another with Windex (or some other cleaner, the label isn't clear) and then takes her role, never facing any real consequences. Another girl treats a girl like a slave, and then laughs at the though that they're friends. Even though it's a camp, the boys and girls just go about in each-others rooms, even at night, and never face adult wrath when they do *stuff* together... yeah that.

One of the camp directors drinks ALL THE TIME, and does not face any legal issues because of it, is seen drunk, and actually PUKES on one of the kids because he is so drunk.

So, this film is not appropriate for younger kids, and not good enough for older kids. I suggest you skip this one.
