What do you mean "OFF"?!

This movie is one of my favorite movies, it's harmless to younger kids. I first saw it when I was 9 (I am now 12).

Unexpectedly sweet romance

The language is a bit raw (this is Eddie Murphy after all) yet overall this is a surprisingly sweet, romantic tribute to love between equals. Murphy's wealthy foreign prince rejects the perfect, (and perfectly servile) woman prepared for him, in favor of a sensible, hardworking daughter of the black American middle class. There are some worrisome stereotypes, (the dark skinned "bad" sister vs the light skinned "good" one) but the movie celebrates brains and heart over beauty and wealth. Added benefit: how wonderful to see a film with two loving, successful black families, one African American and one African. And Hall and Murphy are of course hilarious (the barber shops scenes are priceless).
