What's the Story?

DEATH BEFORE THE WEDDING tells the story of people in a small town in Poland fighting to keep a big-city corporation from shutting down the local dairy farm. Efforts to save the dairy quickly turn into a battle of the sexes as Mirek (Tomasz Karolak) and the men square off against his wife, Regina (Agnieszka Suchora), and the women to devise their own plans to save the dairy and choose a new manager. Caught in the middle of all this are recent college graduates Maja (Natalia Iwanska) and Milosz (Gamou Fall), whose wedding plans are the key to saving the dairy.

This is a quirky and enjoyable feel-good comedy that's just right when you want something light to go with your popcorn. Death Before the Wedding is populated with colorful characters and solid acting that adds a lot of charm to a silly situation. It's a bit too long and drags a little in the middle, and the mysterious death at the beginning is quickly dropped without answering any questions. Teens will enjoy rooting for the young engaged couple, and everyone can enjoy how the rivalry between the men and the women plays out.
