A modern retelling if E.T. (but less interesting).

This movie was very reminiscent of E.T., but it was much weaker. The child actors were awful. The plot was predictable and unoriginal. There really isn't anything to flag in the content area. The story of the kids is more interesting than that of the alien, but it was, again, ruined by poor acting. Just skip this un,ess if you have an hour and a half to waste.

Good film for little kids and tweens

Earth to Echo is an good film. The acting is actually quite good for having pretty much a bunch of not big actors. Sure, its kinda a rip off of E.T. but its still a good and enjoyable film. Pretty much no violence and only 1 suggestive sexual joke that young kids won't even get. 8+ for mild violence and little suggestiveness

Enjoyable, but not as much as E.T.

Was Earth to Echo good? It was very well made with a powerful message, but parents, please note this is a "found footage" film, so the shaking camera may be a bit much for smaller viewers, and some scenes involving Echo (who I think is adorable) may come across as scary or intense, depending on the age the viewers are. Some early scenes were a bit uninteresting, similar to E.T, and you may not get interested until later. Then again, the message of the film, which I don't want to spoil, was very thought-provoking for me.

THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!!!! WAKA WAKA

This movie is basically an E.T. and Super 8 RIPOFF. They took two good movies and Combined them into one piece of CRAP. Me and my two little brothers ( Ages 5 and 9.) fell asleep in the middle of the movie. Yeah this movie will waste your money. Don't even bother illegally watching this movie because it's not worth your time. This movie is simply the worst.

It's ET: The Extra Terrestrial all over again.

An enjoyable film. Cliched, but good performances. I forgot to say that this is ET: The Extra Terrestrial all over again. Now the cliche: Three boys go together to find out that their phones have been going crazy. The fact that the fizziness from the phones lead them to Echo, a small, blue alien. Here comes the cliche, they have to help Echo build a spaceship so Echo could return home. WE HAVE HEARD THIS BEFORE. EVEN THE POSTER IS ET ALL OVER AGAIN. Like I said, it's enjoyable and it has good performances, but it's cliched.

Great Movie

I watched this with my dad, and it was a great movie. Good for most families. I said it was for six and up because it might be a little complicated on some parts and hard to sit still during others.

My favorite movie ever.

Stop talking about all the "motion sickness". It's filmed like a home movie, but I think that's cool. I like how real the kids are. Besides the fact that they're talking to a mini alien, they are just real. How they interact with eachother and the environment, etc. It's just much better than Frozen where the characters were not real in terms of interacting. The movie was really funny. Overall, you should, no NEED, to see this movie. Best.movie.ever.

Earth to Echo

It's awesome thinking that at the middle of night with your friends 4 kids on bikes saying that there phones "barfed"and tried to figure out what was going on.A robot/alien crashed and truckers were hurting him.Surprisingly there was drinking the 4 kids tried to hide from the construction workers.Echo needed parts for his ship and only could answer yes or no questions. And a kid driving a car twice his brother's car and the construction workers van!!! I 100% recommend this movie. This movie made me think about E.T a lot! Please watch it!I enjoyed it SO much!I HOPE YOU DO TO!

"Earth To Echo" Is Just A Great Movie!

This is one of the most entertaining movies I've seen this year. Great dialogue, likable characters, and an enjoyable story. There is very little violence and some mild action. One child is seen driving a vehicle and has trouble driving it, but really isn't in too much harm. There is a scene where in a music store, Echo (the robot/alien) goes crazy around the store and even makes some noises with the instruments. Some store property is damaged, but no one is seriously hurt or injured. Other than that, very mild violence and some action. Now, language: The three boys talk about hot girls in one scene, but it does not go beyond the penalties of sexual content (then again, why would it?). There is one use of the word "crap" and a few other mild insults. This is a very thoughtful film; the characters are very generous and are super positive about returning Echo to his home. When the trio of boys meets Emma, the new girl, they learn to never judge a person by their looks. If you are looking for a way to spend the summer relaxing with your kids, go see Earth To Echo. I loved this movie.

My 9 year sibs and I watched it very good!!!

What common sense media didn’t mention in their review in the swearing section was the swear word crap in the movie the kids said it around 3 times. Overall it was VERY GOOD!!!!! Nothing like E.T though…..

E.T. is no longer the cutest alien.

My profile: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/users/epic-waffles This is a very good movie that will make people reconsider saying E.T. is the cutest alien. There's just violence and if you're seeing it in the theater then there are loud noises that were scaring some of the younger audiences. Just so you know it's rated PG for some stuff and "language" but there's no language! The "sexy stuff" is that Munch called a blonde girl "mannequin girl", he said that he thinks mannequins are hot. Also, a boy lies about kissing the blonde girl to his friends and one of his friends tells her and she says, "So what was it like to kiss me huh?" There is consumerism because the kids have iPhones. There is drinking because when the kids are trying to hide Echo from the police, the run into a bar.

Great movie with some intense scenes but great messages.

Funny and suspenseful, Earth to Echo is a movie that is sure to make your trip to the movies a blast. Although the movie might be a little bit intense for younger audiences, there is nothing too intense for most kids. A kid sends a tearful goodbye message to his friends in case he doesn't make it. In a scene there is footage of Echo being surgically tortured and also there are so many jump scenes throughout the whole movie. And the kids are also caught by guards or the construction workers but they eventually escape. On top of that the word "what the" is said once and "crap is said a couple of times throught the movie. Two kids fight physically briefly, but no one is hurt. Also the kids go into a bar where they receive Shirley Temples, but they don't actually drink them. And lastly a kid makes a suggestive joke about sleeping with one's mom that may go over kid's heads. In Conclusion, it is a great movie that is sure to entertain the whole family. it gives possitive messages about friends sticking together.

Amazing!

This is an amazing movie, appropriate for all audiences. It has one 'Iffy' joke, but most kids won't understand. This is an amazing movie for the whole family. True, it's kind of a rip off of E.T, but it's still amazing.

Basically an exact copycat of E.T.

Although this movie isn't really original, there are some funny parts. The movie's plot is entertaining, however illogical and impossible. The special effects could have been better. "Earth to Echo" has barely ay language or sexual content, which makes it a suitable movie for kids. (It will definitely bore parents).

Surprisingly entertaining for all ages!

Parents need to know that there isn't a lot that should keep younger kids back from the movie theaters in "Earth to Echo." It was originally distributed by Disney, however, once completed, was pawned off to the highest bidder. There is some peril, and mildly intense scenes, however nothing is scary or violent. The found-footage technique allows tension to build on off-screen action. There is very little language. But you can expect multiple uses of "crap" as well as a single use of "h**l." One character makes a reference to sleeping with another's mom. Another character lies about making out with a fellow student. She later finds out, and teases him about his made-up story. Altogether, "earth to Echo" is a wonderful sci-fi adventure that entertains children of all ages.
