What's the Story?

In EASTER LAND 2, the Easter Bunny named Benny (voiced by Simon Hill) is enthusiastically planning a bigger and better Easter egg hunt in a few days but realizes he doesn't have the money to buy the necessary eggs. He—forgive the pun—boils down his Easter obligations to a responsibility to "entertain the whole town on Sunday." He and his chicken pal Henrietta (Kelsey Painter) are working on this shockingly sudden problem (Easter is in only a few days). Rabblerouser (Rich Daigle) is a disgruntled wild boar who looks exactly like Bad Clyde, the warthog of the previous film, Easter Land. For some never-explained reason, he hates Easter just as much as Bad Clyde did. Benny once again disappears and the fate of Easter rests on his friends finding him.

This is a stinker and a sequel nobody asked for. Easter Land 2 constantly tells but doesn't show. As the characters are about to fight, the screen switches to the view of a mountain and voiceovers and sound effects to let us hear the fight. Benny and Henrietta scheme to get a local farmer to donate the eggs they need to run an egg hunt. No such encounter is shown, but soon Benny laments to Henrietta that the farmer turned them down. Santa and his reindeer brainstorm a plan to help the Easter Bunny; they walk and talk, and walk and talk some more, agree to a solution and then announce with determination, "Away we go," but they go nowhere. They just keep walking.

Occasional moments of witty dialogue emerge, as does a vow to kill the Easter bunny using the word "exterminate," but both are rare. Mostly, characters just talk to each other standing still or walking, and, just like the movie, never reach a destination.
