Fast & Feel Love ironically puts camerawork and editing more commonly employed in action movies in the service of learning to love and understand ourselves and others. There's lots of great advice for anyone trying to step from adolescence into adulthood, something it's suggested that millennials may struggle with. With a refreshingly original voice and vision, writer-director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit beautifully uses multiple narrators, a character who knows he's in a movie, sound effects, overdramatic music, and close-ups to insert wry, comic wisdom into this quirky tale about a quirky man competing in a quirky sport while trying to learn how to live life like a responsible adult.

The story will resonate with anyone who is obsessed with work, sports, or hobbies to the exclusion of everything and everyone else. That Kao might be somewhere on the Asperger's spectrum is an unspoken possibility; there are hints that he struggles with ordinary life in a way others may not. He doesn't look people in the eye. He has trouble bonding with others. His great breakthrough comes when he realizes that those pesky others have been helping him succeed all along, even if he never recognized or acknowledged the fact.
