Worth checking out if you have patience
The Common Sense review and rating is spot on here. I gave it 4-stars because the film is trying very hard to be great, and it seems a significant amount of work went into it. That said, the plot moves way too slow (knowing I like slow movies) and the dramatic moments cause confusion instead of clarity . The age rating could go lower, as the violence and scariness is much less than many movies aimed at younger kids. As the CS review notes, youngest character (10 year-old) does get suddenly zapped with a lighting bolt and it appears to kill her, but in a few seconds we see she will be okay. That is the most scary/violent part. Overall, I think it's a good movie for kids to watch alone or for a family night.
