Invaders from Proxima B
Parent and Kid Reviews
What's the Story?
In INVADERS FROM PROXIMA B, the Jankins family meets alien Chuck after he crash-lands in their backyard. From Proxima B, Chuck needs help. He's being chased by a number of people, aliens, and threats. Will the Jankins family be able to help Chuck?
Is It Any Good?
In many ways, this film does a lot with very little. Most of the effects in Invaders from Proxima B are done practically, so there is minimal use of CGI. And for a film with this kind of budget, it's probably smart not to go all in on the computer special effects, because they don't look great at this quality. But the rest of the action is fun enough to keep kids invested.
The first act of the film might be a bit tense in parts for younger viewers, as a lot rests on whether or not they find Chuck entertaining. He doesn't exactly have a "cute" voice or demeanor that suggests cuddly hugs. Some viewers won't like him. But others might enjoy the adventure, the story Chuck brings to the Jankins family, and the resolution to Chuck's dilemma.
