It was a movie made in 1989. People weren't offended by every little thing, so the swearing in the movie and occasional jokes that would be inappropriate now didn't matter then. That's why it's rated PG, and I think that's fine. My dad turned it on and said "it's a childhood classic" and honestly, I liked it. Bad language wasn't really used that often, especially in comparison to some other movies of the time. I think it had a good message, and I liked the movie. If you're offended by every little thing, or shelter your kids, then don't watch it. But I promise you that they're going to hear language (or they probably already have) and you just have to deal with it.
