There was some sex and violence but it is history so I think it has a great message

This movie was really good. The actors were all insanely believable and inspiring, and the costumes were absolutely spectacular, totally worth a watch. However, it does tackle some pretty dark subjects. Mary is constantly subjected to male abuse, whether verbal, physical, or sexual. There is a pretty graphic sexual scene where she forces a man to have sex with her when he is attracted to men, leading to the scene being extremely violent and uncomfortable. Some oral sex is insinuated, and there is a clip of Mary getting raped later on in the story, but it's relatively brief. Lastly, there is one scene where a character is brutally stabbed hundreds of times until his intestines can be seen spilling out of him. Therefore, I believe this movie is appropriate for mature 16 year-olds and up, because of the sexual and violent aspects of the plot, and just because the audience needs to be a bit more developed and mature to understand the story itself.

I was very disappointed by this movie. It was so boring! I also should point out that it was historically inaccurate, which bithered me. Overall boring movie, would not recommend. Waste of 124 minutes.

I thought this movie was really good, it was quite a dark movie with rape, sex and some graphic scenes but to be honest I thought it was going to be worse!! The story is good even though a little bit confusing sometimes but overall very interesting and I would recommend for teens that can handle some violence and sex here and there.

This is quite a good movie, although not for those with queasy stomachs. Not for kids who are uncomfortable with some kissing, partial nudity, and sex. A very great story though. Good if you want action, drama, and romance thrown in with some history.
