Strong character portrayals amidst violence and nihilism
Although there are no happy endings and that is fairly clear from the beginning to end there is a charisma amongst these characters that ebbs and flows. I did not connect with them, but that is not to say that these characters do not speak to people. Keitel, and De Niro have chemistry and dance their lines in between the other. Both looking young and conquerors of the world and both trapped in a death grip with the other.

Martin Scorsese first movie, and as expected, not for children!
F word is said 50+ times. Lots of other cuss words are used and racial slurs of many kinds. A few prolong scenes of female nudity, breast, pubic hairs, Buttocks are seen. Lots of fist fights, "some are played in comedic way". One scene has a man shot 4 times. The gun shot victimstill stands and fights, eventually collapsing and dies. Another graphic scene plays out, a character is shot in the neck, blood spews out everywhere, this scene is very intense. An intersting movie but it has a lot of scenes unsuitable for the underage.

it’s not that bad
kids will be fine with it. if you want to perpetuate the stigma constructed nonsensically by our society that considers sex taboo, regardless of the integral role it plays in our natural lives, then don’t show this to your children. if you don’t mind letting your child see a small amount of nudity while you can control it and be present, let them watch this fantastic and engaging film (just a disclaimer: there’s about a 98% chance that, if your child is over 13, they’ve already discovered porn or have at least been exposed to some mild form of it and therefore have seen nudity prior to their viewing of this film).
