What's the Story?
In MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDS ARE NEVER FAR AWAY, Sky Wishes (Saffron Henderson) wants her friends in Ponyville to finally meet Star Catcher (Lenore Zann), her magical Pegasus pony friend from Butterfly Island. But Sky Wishes soon finds out that Pegasus ponies are very shy and reluctant to leave their island. Along with her friends, Sky Wishes decides to throw a fun party full of glitter, sundaes, and a fun friendship dance. But will the two friends be able to get everyone together and show them the value of making new friends?
Is It Any Good?
Although parents may have trouble getting through this syrupy sweet tale, they'll appreciate the lack of iffy content and the nice message about the importance of making friends. My Little Pony: Friends Are Never Far Away is an especially appropriate story for kids who've struggled with shyness -- they'll be encouraged by watching the Pegasus ponies discover making new friends isn't really that scary after all.
Fans of the newer My Little Pony series may be a bit confused by the different animation and style here, but it's a gentle, simple introduction to the series for younger fans.
