More inappropriate than the first

Despite National Lampoon’s vacation being handed an R-rating while this is PG-13, this film goes a mile into R territory. Multiple scenes of female toplessness including one that takes place in a German strip club (scenes are not that brief, and most certainly in a sexual context). Near constant sexual innuendos and jokes about sex. An adult male makes out with a minor (the actress wasn’t actually a minor at the time of release, but still looks very suggestive). “F—k”, “s—t”, “G——-n”, are used multiple times each among other swear words. The first movie in the series does contain some iffy stuff, but not nearly as bad as this. Pretty good movie despite all of this, but if you decide to watch this with your kids/family, you’re in for a very cringeworthy family movie night.

Wasn't the best but had dome funny bits.

Funny Family comedy has a lot of sexual content for a PG-13 film two scenes with bare breasts one a a strip club in France and one were two people are making out on a bench, plus loads of scantily clad women and suggestive remarks and jokes. language is pretty harsh mostly from a french waiter in the subtitles he says "Go F-k Yourself", "Your wife has Big Beautiful T-ts.", Your daughter has a great little Ass." and "You Stupid American I don't understand a Damn word your saying." also other language like S-t, Slut, Bastard, A-hole and Dick. plus some cartoonish Action. Cast: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Dana Hill, Jason Lively and Eric Idle.

just watch the version aired on tv and you're fine

if youre worried about showing this movie to your kids, go on the amc channel whenever it's airing and just watch it with them next. no nudity, no swearing (that i remember?) and nothing really concerning to anyone above the age of 10. is it worth watching is the biggest question. it doesn't live up to the first vacation movie in the slightest. but if you enjoyed the first one and would like to at least give the other two a chance, go for it. i mean, it's funny at times, and the worst that can happen is you regret an hour of your life. big deal.

A fun and a classic movie! It is very funny, and really isn't too terrible for kids. It has some kissing, and sex jokes, but no violence or anything. It can be a bit much for some kids, but I think it is okay for people 12 and up.

Great, but...

I think that this was a pretty funny movie. I mean, Chevy Chase rocked. But, as in most of the Lampoon series, there’s some pretty iffy stuff. For example, the family goes to a show where they show uncensored topless women. Another innapropriate part was when the teenage son hits on a German (I don’t know) girl and the girl reveals...um, well, you get it it. Overall, I think this should’ve been rated R 16+.

National Lampoon's European Vacation Moview

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S EUROPEAN VACATION is the second instalment in the "Vacation" series. This one wasn't as good as the original; while it did feature a few great one-liners, it lacked frequent laughs and was very edgy. But, when there were jokes, they were all at least somewhat humorous, and all-in-all, the film was pretty entertaining. Another film to check out.
