Watch out for that hammer!

My introduction to Chan-wook Park's work and my admiration for his storytelling inspires me to seek out all of his films. He has a foothold in both violence, misogyny, and revenge in a way that is voyeuristic, enjoyable and also super creepy and makes me want to look away. He is all of these at once in his films and Oldboy is no exception. An incredible story that is not for the weak hearted. I had no idea that a hammer could do so much.

This movie is a masterfully crafted piece of art - but a very violent one. The story, atmosphere, basically the whole thing is amazing and worth seeing, but you have to be prepared for some very uncomfortable scenes, be it quite graphic violence or explicit erotic content. I would recommanded Oldboy to all adults and teens that can handle strong themes and graphic content, but definitely not to children.

This is a movie more about the physiological torture of someone who has been trapped in a room. Some children will like it but not fully understand it.

Only for adults

Oldboy is an extremely mature movie and should only be viewed by adult audiences because the violence, sex, and language is way too graphic.A man watches a real clip of Japanese porn, lots of graphic psychological torture and strong language (f**k,c**t,w***e,b***h,d**ks**t,and a*****e)
