Violent but insightful look at the lives of early Christians
I saw this film during Lent of 2018 and I thought it was amazing. It takes the viewer back to the 1st Century A. D. and provides a very moving look at how early Christians lived in constant threat. Violence is 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Some of it may be disturbing for younger moviegoers who only know violence to a certain extent. We see Christians being burned alive, and we see and hear that even children are not exempt from persecution. The Christian characters; Luke, Paul, Priscilla, and Aquila, are all very positive and straightforward role models who remain brave and strong with faith, even risking death to protect their friends and family and advocating forgiveness and nonviolence. I would recommend this movie for teens and up. Its Christian messages are very important.
