Another great slasher!
This is not as good as the original, but Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette once again do an awesome job with their roles! Sidney does still show lots of endurance and perseverance and Gale Weathers is still trying to get a good story on the new Ghostface, just like the first one. Again, the violence is too extreme for viewers under mid-teens, but this sequel is not a waste of time for those who liked the first “Scream” flick.

VIOLENT!
I don't think Commen sense media described the violence very well! Many stabbings every twelve minutes. The killer shot A BUNCH! People stabbed a BUNCH!! Definitely not suitable for young teens.

Good Sequel to a classic slasher series
Scream 2 Is Sequel to scream 1 even tho Scream 2 came out in 1979 I think it is still surprisingly violent theres stabbing to death in the stomach a slit throat in a car crash and a massive pole goes thru someone's face in a car accident it's not censored at all there's no sex in it one lady says the word blowjob and that's the only sexual thing your gonna get in this film there's not much swearing some fucks ... this film is good i was quite surprised cos alot of my friends said it was Boring but it's not it's a good film but it's defently for ages 14 and up only Real Age Rating : 18 My Rating : 14
Violence 8/10
Sex 0/10
Swearing 4/10
Drugs ... 0/10
Movie Rating : 4/5

Disturbing violence, not for under 18
I saw this in the theater when I was 17, and there's a disturbing, violent scene at the beginning of the movie that bothered me quite a bit at the time. I kind of wish I hadn't seen it, and I had already seen MANY horror movies. "Texas Chainsaw" didn't bother me at all at age 14, for example.

Self-aware sequel is a little of the same
I'm committed to binging these movies now, one "Scream" a day keeps productivity away. I have two more to go, and I hope I haven't peaked with these two. The best thing I can say for this one is the climax, which takes place in literally a very theatrical place. The showdown between Sidney and the killer is quite dramatic, maybe even AS good as the original. The movie makes clear self-aware references to the fact that it's setting itself up to not being as good as the original, which now, almost 10 years later is surely seen as a classic. But there was more to tell with Sidney Prescott's story. Now let's see if the third film just adds fat to the story or it can be a conclusive ending.
