Great movie

This was an amazing movie! Watched this with my 13 year old daughter and we both enjoyed it a lot. Although there is a fair bit of blood it’s nothing teens nowadays can’t handle. This movie is appropriate for 13 year olds (and maybe 12) if gore is nothing they haven’t seen before. As a scream fan I was definitely not disappointed with this sequel and the reveal was AMAZING.

NOT for kids under 18 - We had to walk out due to psychologically disturbing content!😱

We were shocked by the disturbingly demented content and graphic psychologically damaging descriptions that were depicted in first 20 minutes of this movie. Nothing like the prior Scream movies! My husband and I usually like horror movies, but I would advise any parents to keep kids under 18 from watching this . ( unless you rent it later and take time to pause and explain the damaging content to them). We took our 14 and 18 yr olds along with some family friends and their 13 year old, and for the first time in my life, we all had to walk out. ( we lost the $70, but it was worth it) It wasn’t the 30 F- bombs in the first 15 minutes, or even the murders themselves, but rather the deranged feeling of elation the killer describes almost immediately after the movie begins. They didn’t seem like a typical sociopathic killer, but rather just a movie obsessed college kid simply playing a game or something —As if the murders were no big deal and were actually funny and enjoyable. Even my 18 yr old son said how sickening it was! As a psychologist, I need people to understand that this type of content is psychologically damaging to children( and probably some adults). The images portrayed reminded me of torture videos they use on prisoners of war. Also, Jenna Ortega’s drunken party behavior and her irrational attack against her friends trying to stop her from being sexually assaulted didn’t really sit well either ( because we were there with younger teens). Just be aware that if you let your kids see this, they may not be the same afterwards.

Too disturbing!

Should be rated 18+ content far too disturbing, especially for kids that have had past trauma it could be triggers for them, and adults too for that matter, but as an adult, their choice.

Step up from Scream 5, but extremely violent

The film is a huge improvement from the last one. It's a lot more suspenseful and emphasizes chase scenes instead of gore. Nevertheless, I would not take your kids to it if you don't think they can handle it. A 14 or 15 year old that's seen the other movies will be fine, as it isn't any more disturbing than the rest of the series. Kids that aren't as familiar with the slasher genre should probably not watch it until they're 16. There are so many disturbing scenes, and I (a huge horror fan) had to look away at some points.

The movie itself was great I really loved it and enjoyed it, the only thing I did not like and was not very happy about was paying the extra money to see it in 3D and it wasn't a 3D movie there weren't any 3D scenes in the movie.
