Iffy.

If I could, I would give this movie a 3.5. It was good -- really good -- in regards to the plot and the tying in of details. Though the only storyline I was truly invested in was the first, they were all fine-tuned. There are, as you could probably guess, a plenty of disturbing, offensive, and downright wrong plot-lines and details. There's plenty of violence, though most of it is (to a degree) censored by the black and white film. There are horrible people who do horrible things (it's called "Sin City"), but as I was expecting them, the topics that bothered me are less in-your-face. Firstly, the characterization of girls and women by the majority of the plots as weak, inferior, and objects is upsetting. Though at the end there is some retribution through a gang of women, all of the main voiceovers are done by men -- even if them being done by a woman would've made much more sense. The movie is largely masculine-dominated. If a man listed this as a favorite movie, I would be severely concerned. Secondly, there is the use of a swastika in several instances. Though I am still confused as to why it's even in the film, it seems important to me that the use of these symbols are further explored. Is this a metaphor for the horrific treatment of Jews in WWII and beyond, or is it a historically hateful symbol thrown in to gain more shudders and sympathizer-support? It's just iffy content. Not everyone can watch it, and not everyone should -- if so, it should be talked about in depth.

This movie is for sins!

That's right! This is the Sin City! This movie is just trash! There is some nudity, all females are prostitutes, and the stupid 10 year old girl is sexually abusive! There is extreme, intense, constant, and graphic violence; torture, suicide, dismemberment, references to cannibalism, child molestation, and rape. A woman's hand is cut off by this serial killer; she mentions how he sucked the meat off her fingers. This is Frequent gore! There is also severe swearing! This movie should have crossover with Hazbin Hotel because they're both sins! Don't watch it if you're innocent or a Christian! Maybe Rebecca Spark and Leslie C will probably hate Tarantino films! #RebeccaSparkneedstochill #LeslieCneedstochill #Loranikas303VSRebeccaSpark #Loranikas303VSLeslieC #TarantinoRants #HorrorMovieRants #HorrorMovieHaters #ThisIsForSins

Fun for those mature enough to watch it

There's a good amount of disturbing and violent scenes in this movie that could make it a hard watch for some people. If your kid can handle other Rodriguez and Tarantino movies they could probably watch this too.

Stunning neo-noir movie is ultra-violent, full of sexual content, has disturbing moments.

This is a beautiful movie and is absolutely stunning to look at. The acting, directing, and plots are all great. The plots seem simple at first, but then they throw in so many twists and turns that it keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. The plots consist of: A cop tracking down a pedophile, an man looking for the killer of the girl he loved, and a man trying to kill his girlfriends abusive ex-boyfriend. Seem simple at first, but then it throws in twists such as (SPOILERS) The pedophile is the mayors son and uses his fathers power to stay above the law, the girl the man loved was a prostitute looking for someone to protect her, and the ex-boyfriend was a cop and he need to hide the body or else the city would fall into a gang war. (SPOILER OVER) The color is used geniously. The movie is entirely black and white aside for a few select colors: red, blue, green, yellow, and gold. The colors are used to define some of the characters or show they are key to a story, or just to help them stand out. The result? Beautiful art. It also manages to feel grounded because of the great acting and dialog, making the over the top stuff feel more realistic. Now into the thick of things and into how graphic it gets. Let's start with violence. Keep in mind that it isn't always red. In some stories it's white and in one case yellow. But it is still graphic and brutal. A character has her hand eaten (off screen) and describes how the cannibal forced her "to watch him suck the meat off the fingers." A character is shot multiple times with an uzi and dies, but the shooter continues to shoot the body. A man is shot multiple times, including the testicles. Many bloody shooting occur. two men have swords stabbed through their skulls. A man is decapitated. A man has his hand cut off, and falls butt first onto a throwing star (played for laughs). He tries to shoot someone but the gun backfires, sending the barrel into his skull. His corpse (among three others) gets mutilated (mostly offscreen), and has his head severed and eventually exploded. A man has his limbs remove (off screen) and a dog begins eating him (mostly off screen). His head is hacked off with a saw (again, off screen, but it is carried around and drips red blood). A man is beaten, shot, and scratched. A man dies in an electric chair. A man has his testicles torn off and hist head beaten to a pulp. A person is whipped. A man is held out of a moving car and his face is ground against the pavement. Sexual content scores 9/10. Most of it is off screen. 4 shots of bare breasts, only 3 are sexual and are all in one scene. Most female characters are prostitutes. Talk of sex. A villain is a pedophile. Talk of child molestation. Strong language throughout the film. Just about everything except racial slurs.

Good Movie, not fantastic. It's is violent, but no more violent then films such as Apocalypto or Django Unchained. It is also worse than the previous films mentioned. If you can handle heavy violence it should be nothing. There are two nude scenes but not a lot nudity ad it is pretty brief. Even though this is mature movie, it has almost no swearing. If you were to remove the nudity and violence, ti should be a PG with the amount of swearing it has. There are very little swears and those swears are extremely mild. If you can handle heavy violence, a little bit of nudity, and want to see this movie you should watch. The common sense media 18+ is a ton of crap. Mature 12 years and older.

Sin City isn't a comic movie, it's a comic book brought to life, and pumped with steroids!

Sin City is the single greatest comic movie ever made. Violence: 9/10 - The only reason i didn't give this section a 10/10 is because nearly all of the violence in the film is extremely highly stylized, the realistic violence includes a villain having his arms and legs cut off with a saw and having tourniquets tied around the bloody stumps so he doesn't bleed out too quickly, a dog then proceeds to eat the man alive, finally, the man's head is sawed off. Near the end of the film, a man stabs a villain, rips his genitals off and punches his face until there is literally nothing left except yellow blood and chunks of bone on the floor, lots and lots of highly stylized bloody violence is shown. Language: 4/10 - godd--n is said a few times, s--t is said about 5 times, other milder swears include: b--ch, d--n, hell, ba---rd and wh-re Sex/Nudity: 8/10 - One of the main villains is a child molester, many topless women are shown, a couple of scenes take place in a strip club. Drugs/Smoking/Drinking: 5/10 - Most of the characters smoke and/or drink, Jackie Boy drives drunk and almost wrecks, many scenes take place in a bar, Marv has a medical condition and abuses his pills. Frightening/Intense Scenes: 8/10 - Many of the film's villains are: child molesters, cannibals and serial killers, The scene when the man is eaten by the dog is creepy and disturbing, a man attempts to drown another man in a toilet. This is one of the most visually stunning movies ever made. Highly recommended if you can deal with a lot of violence and some nudity, comic fans will absolutely adore this film.
