One notch more age-appropriate than the review suggests

The reviewer raises many good points and is close to accurate on this fine animation movie. However, when comparing with, say, the Indiana Jones series, a question comes to mind. "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "IJ and the Last Crusade" are both reviewed as "on" for 11 and up when the level of violence is higher and the "meanness" of the villains is admittedly a notch below that of Major Chip Hazard and his squad. This parent would argue that these three movies are in fact equally age-appropriate, hence the proposed rating. (This being a San Francisco-based organization, is there a case of subtle anti-military bias in the review which needs "unfiltering?") The soldiers' "make the mission at all costs" behavior actually raises another good teaching point accessible to kids 11 and above: How far against moral principles do you go in following orders?

good but a bit of violence.

its rated PG-13 so its a movie for kids like 8 and up. good movie but a little violence is in it. however the characters were good. the boy was cute and smart and the girl was nice and pretty. there is a kissing scene when the boy rescues the girl but its not bad.
