Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience
What's the Story?
STRAY KIDS: THE DOMINATE EXPERIENCE is an energetic concert film/documentary featuring the titular K-pop boy band. Filmed in front of a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, the movie includes performances as well as individual interview segments with the eight band members and candid behind-the-scenes moments in between song sets, inviting viewers to immerse themselves fully into the STAY fandom.
Is It Any Good?
An invitation to come for the music and STAY for the fandom, this isn't just a concert film, but an emotional immersion into the evolution of the next-gen boy band. Inserting welcome breaks into the long, sometimes overstimulating concert elements, Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience's vulnerable sit-down moments with the band members let viewers connect beyond the music, directly into the band members' humanity. The eight members—Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.—don't shy away from sharing their struggles with overinflated egos, fame, mental health, and their own limitations. That authenticity and accountability helps them connect with both longtime fans and new ones.
While the poorly done green-screen interviews somewhat cheapen the film's documentary-style moments, the concert footage offers a full sensory experience (and plenty of it, given that the run time is two hours and 46 minutes). Proving that K-pop isn't just a trend, Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience doesn't play by the rules. It's imperfect but earnest and entertaining, with finger-heart vibes all around.
