I am disappointed in commonsense media for supporting this

I have ADHD and my ADHD medication has been life changing for me and many other people like me. This medication can be harmful if missed used but change lives when properly used. This poorly researched documentary is propaganda and only portrays one side of the story and has made many people in the ADHD community feel terrible about themselves. This documentary compares people that are using medication to treat a medical disorder to drug addicts. (Quote from the documentary) "I feel like it's so easy to put a kid on something close to meth and not question it. There are other things you can do just teach them how to focus". Well guess what it doesn't work like that when people warn about the possible side-effects of ADHD medication they often forget that not treating ADHD can have terrible side-effects to. At the end a political theorist says that this medication causes us to lose the ability to wonder to be creative to experience deep connection and grief "the experience of being human it self". I have a very creative mind and without my ADHD medication I wouldn't have the focus to express that creativity. I'm not saying that ADHD medication can't be dangerous because it can be and people do miss use it. I'm saying that if used properly this medication changes lives and that this documentary fails to look through the eyes of someone with ADHD who needs this medication. I always check something on commonsense media before I watch it and think that it is a valuable resource for kids and parents. But I am very upset that commonsense media gave this four stars they should not be supporting this. (Quote from commonsense media review) "Refreshingly free of heavy-handed scare tactics, this documentary calmly and rationally explores rising amphetamine use by asking thought-provoking questions and promoting thorough understanding. A few times, Take Your Pills comes close to scare territory by driving home a sense of overwhelming, unavoidable pervasiveness, which may alarm some viewers. But overall it examines many aspects of amphetamine use without shying away from the benefits of it or trying to create fear". Huge understatement the whole thing is a scare tactic and definitely does not calmly discuss the benefits. I am also angry at Netflix for releasing this. No one should see this especially if they have ADHD.

Inaccurate Perspective

This Netflix documentary isn't really accurate. It states that ADD and ADHD are over-prescribed and that it is unnecessary to take medication for it. ADD and ADHD are real and some people need stimulant medication to help them. This documentary ADD and ADHD seem like an unreal learning disability. In addition, it makes many doctors look like they will prescribe anything for the right amount of money. In many scenarios this is not the case.
