Funny For An Older Audience

The Interview is, for many reasons, a controversial film. Any movie even the least bit political is sure to be a hot topic for debate, especially considering some of the mature subject matter in this flick. There is slight racism (a character apologizing with a fake Asian accent; a character referring to the USA as "a place where they don't eat dogs" while leaving a nation in Asia), but if your children is well-rounded and has common sense, they'll be able to understand that this was for comedic effect and that comments like those should not be repeated. Though it is vulgar, there is no nudity further than a woman's breasts. There are two scenes where a boner is concealed by clothing. There is language, mild drinking/smoking, and some blood at the end (as well as the brutal destruction of a helicopter, and the shooting of multiple people, all within the final twenty minutes), but there's no denying that, albeit stupid, this film is guaranteed to give quite a few laughs.

Best Seth Rogen Movie!

This movie has very little drugs and alcohol besides at the beginning. The fact that this movie is controversial doesn't matter. My only problem with this movie is the violence and language. At the end of the movie they bite peoples fingers off and shoot 15 people with machine guns.

Great but not appropriate

It is a great movie I am 12 and I watched it with my 11 year old friend. This movie is very inappropriate as it has violence ( biting fingers off) . Nudity, language and more. It is very controversial and it quite cringe but really funny

Hilarious movie!!!!!! Have to see

I am ten, and my brother is seven. We watched this movie and loved it!!! I had to close his eyes on some parts, but he loved it too! There is a part where it shows a womens breasts and someone almost having s** with a girl. The violence is pretty bad, but played for laughs. A mans head explodes, four fingers are bit off, and a man is rolled over by a tank. It has a lot of inappropriate talk, and really rough language. I loved it, go see it now!!!!!

DPRK head check

For those that are not aware of the struggles North Koreans suffer by every day this is not the movie for you. Find a great documentary on the DPRK and learn the reality that is North Korea. This movie however, absolutely brilliant as always when it comes to Seth Rogan. Once I watched the movie a second time I caught all the little hints and dark humor that brought the movie together and made sense. There are plenty of jabs at the DPRK in this movie that mirror truth. These jabs however are embedded within the comical aspect that it portrays in which so many people miss when I discuss this movie with them. Yes there are your typical sex scenes, drug use etc. but don't let that distract you from the purpose this movie had. Entertainment is supposed to be edgy, controversial and make you ask questions and think about the bigger picture. This movie does this well. So if you enjoy Seth Rogan movies, expect much of the same humor. If you're a little more pompous and haughty I would not recommend this movie to you. You're probably better off attending church and partaking in choir music.

This is a must-see. (The comment, not the movie)

You will either like it or hate it. Either way a movie like this is worth watching...prepare to be offended. (hopefully not) That being said, you, the parent, might possibly need to stop trying to protect your kid so much. They can think for themselves, I would hope. Take video games, for example. Any video game with violence does not affect the normal kid/teen if they are a well-thought person. (You decide. I know some kids who aren't, don't be an idiot. Think about your own personal experiences. A lot of kids don't even understand the bad material, and certainly they have the common sense not to put any of this into action because guess what--most kids can tell the difference between fantasy and reality. I think that every kid that falls into the "well-thought" category I described before should play GTA IV. That's right, that game with violence, murder, bowling minigames, you name it. I'd like to first present the point that people will play video games to be in the shoes of someone they wouldn't normally. To simulate it. GTA IV puts you right in the shoes of a man who has gone way too far down the wrong road, hunted down by mafia. When I played this game, I realized that -- oh crap -- that's a path you wouldn't want to go down. EVERY GTA game makes this so clear and yet they get hounded for the things that you CAN do in games. Government doesn't need to be parenting YOUR children. That's YOUR job. And even then, you should let your kids see some bad things. Stop supervising them all the time. Why can't this movie be shown to kids? It's only "inappropriate" because people decide to be offended by it. They feel like they need to shield their kids from the world. There's nothing inherently wrong with bad words, we just chose to be offended by them. Bad things exist and your kid has to lose his innocence eventually. YOU make the decision for yourself as to whether you will let your child roam free. Do you think that he can seperate fantasy from reality, that he won't be influenced by violent media and the like because he knows that it's not real? You should be able to make this decision for yourself.

A great, yet offensive film..

I Wouldn’t say that I liked the film a whole lot.. On that note, I would say the film does get pretty offensive and It has a whole load of curse words.. Other than that, a great film for both Adults and mature teenagers.. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend a younger child to watch this..

I wish I could get the time back I spent watching this

This movie starts out pretty funny with a great plot, and crosses the line in gross humor and goes straight downhill. At some point it spirals out of control with no redemption as one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I was no longer laughing and felt depressed at the end from all the negativity. I don't recommend this movie to anyone.
